2-year postdoc position in combinatorial probability theory
Location: Nancy or Paris area, starting in the Fall 2025
The ANR funded project LOUCCOUM (Large Objects Under Combinatorial Constraints and Outside Uniform Models) is looking for applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position, starting in the Fall 2025, either in Nancy (Université de Lorraine) or in Palaiseau (École Polytechnique), according to the candidate wishes.
Research topics:
Discrete probability theory, in particular random permutations, random trees, random graphs.
A short scientific description of the project, together with a list of its members, are available here. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to interact with some of the project members and work on the topics of the project, understood broadly.
Practical information:
- Duration: 2 years;
- Net salary: between 2,300 and 2,700 euros, depending on experience and location;
- Starting date: between September 1st, 2025 and February 1st, 2026 (the candidate should have graduated at the starting date, but not necessarily when applying);
- The successful candidate will join either the probability and statistics team at IECL in Nancy, or the research team PEIPS at École Polytechnique
- Available funds for attending conferences. No teaching load. Speaking French is not required.
